Cider for Change! Round Two

First and foremost, a huge thank you to everyone who entered Raffle for Change last month! We were able to raise $1,560 split between four great organizations! We can’t thank all of you enough for your support! Congrats to Rachel Binkley-Vance, our winner of round one!

This time we’re back with four new organizations to support, and a little help from our friends! We changed up the name a bit, but the idea is the same: $5 gets you a chance to win one of four awesome cider baskets! Round two wouldn’t be possible without our friends at AeppelTreow, Botanist & Barrel, Curt Henry (owner of TattieBogle CiderWorks), Eden, Eris Cider House, Houston, Nine Pin, North Shore, Ploughman, Raging, Vander Mill, and Virtue! These great cideries and folks were extraordinarily generous with their support of round two, and we can’t thank them enough. Regardless if you win this round or not, please go support all of these amazing cideries!

To enter, please Venmo or PayPal $5 (or multiples of $5 for each entry you’d like to make, multiples are allowed) to Ryan, using the logos/links below. Entries will be taken until 8AM on Friday, August 7th, with the winner randomly chosen by Matt on the TCE Social Zoom at 9PM EST that night. Entries must include your name and email (that way we can contact you!), and you must be over 21+ and reside in the continental United States to win. Entries that do not meet those qualifications, or received after the cut off, will be considered donations. We will reach out to the winners for their addresses, and will ship their ciders shortly afterwards. Shipping costs will be pulled from the entry money, and the net proceeds will be donated by August 14th!

Here’s the four new organizations that will benefit from the generous support:

Erica’s Pick: Girls for a Change

Girls For A Change is a youth development organization aimed at empowering Black girls and other girls of color in Central Virginia to visualize their bright futures and potential through discovery, development, innovation, and social change in their communities.

Matt’s Pick: My Block, My Hood, My City

My Block, My Hood, My City provides underprivileged youth with an awareness of the world and opportunities beyond their neighborhood. We take students on explorations focused on STEM, Arts & Culture, Citizenry & Volunteerism, Health, Community Development, Culinary Arts, and Entrepreneurism.

Ryan’s Pick: Open Buffalo

Open Buffalo has civic initiative to make major, long-term improvements in justice and equity in the City of Buffalo. Our mission is to advance racial, economic, and ecological justice. We do so through skill building, network connecting, and activating leadership opportunities. Our goal is for all communities in Western New York to thrive free from discrimination and poverty.

National Pick: Equal Justice Initiative

The Equal Justice Initiative is committed to ending mass incarceration and excessive punishment in the United States, to challenging racial and economic injustice, and to protecting basic human rights for the most vulnerable people in American society.
